Don't get me wrong. Originality is a fine concept and I encourage it.
But what the fuck is with this "Originality Olympics" thing going on with Anthro art?
It seems to me like I am now, out of the loop because I have characters that are feline, and that apparently is "taboo" now since cats are common critters in the furryverse.
You know why most of my characters are cats? Here's why. BECAUSE I REALLY REALLY FUCKING LIKE CATS! They're my favorite animal. EVER! I am 100% born and bred cat person. I mean I like dogs, and lizards, and goldfish and racoons. But damn it, cats are on a PEDESTAL here. They're the only animals that ever really spark my interest.
I also have cat characters, because cats are part of the story I've been worknig on since HIGH SCHOOL. There are 3 known races (so far) in it. Cats, Humans, and Halens. I might have a few other races I might introduce, but cats are one of the main 3. I have their subculture and mannerisms and characteristics down to the point where I could write a fucntional RPG out of it.
I think my whole point with all of this, is that I am working on consistancy here. It isn't that I don't like to draw other animals. It's just that with the limited time I have drawing these days, I need to focus on keeping what I have CONSISTANT!
As for my designs... Redrock is, and will always be a red abysynian housecat. Her hair may change, her clothes may change, and maybe her personality will change, but she is a character that would NEVER work as anything other than a red abysynian housecat. Ever. Same goes for Jessie James and Bruce and Kip and Roadie and everyone else. I'm not going to conform to the masses because people have problems with furries.
And I might add... I've been drawing cartoon animals LONG before I had the internet and found out that other people were also drawing cartoon animals and had a label for it. So kindly shut your pie holes.

New Store
For longtime fans of my work.
if you have EVER wanted to own merchandise with my characters on it, now is your chance.
I made a Redbubble Store. https://www.redbubble.com/people/redrock963/shop?asc=u
I'll be adding more stuff to it whenever I finish art.
Now I just need to FINISH art. (work has been hell the past few months)
New Art, New Moniker
In an effort to distance my characters from their Sonic Fan character roots, I have finally decided on a change. I have agonized over this change for a few years, but I've finally settled on it.
Henceforth. Redrock Wildcat is now known as Redrock Vilikissa.
And... if you Google that, you will officially know that I am not that clever nor creative as to how the hell I came about this change.
What is true though, is that it took me FOREVER to land on a name I was content with. She was originally going to be "Redrock Kakko", but I just wasn't feeling that. Other rock star names sounded so FORCED. I entertained "Redrock Elliot", "Redrock Plant
Where else to find me
Just an FYI, I post my works in progress at http://redrock963.tumblr.com/ and I stream my artwork at https://www.twitch.tv/redrock963. Usually Sundays at 1pm -5 GMT. I need to finish up some personal works that I am not showing off on the livestream. It's just that the day job has been chaos, and I've needed to remedy that chaos with video games and kitty time.
BUT IT'S STILL NOT A COMEBACK. ;D
Don't call it a comeback...
You may or may not see more submissions from me in the future. I can't promise anything, but I am trying to get back into the swing of drawing. The Scott Redesign was an experiment I was quite happy with, so I may be working on my other characters. I just don't have the free-time I did in college, so finished pieces may be spread pretty far apart though. I'm trying to take it slow and not burn myself out.
